As the title says "Work Continues . . .", I'm on my second draft of A Soul Damns The Soul, I'm very happy with my first rewrite on this novella. The ending did not quite fit my usual standards. On the manuscript side of things I added roughly four and a half more pages of content (there are a few more pages than that added to the finished book form). The ending pulls the story together better or at least I think, anyway. Between my needed breaks from the editing process I'm working on a variety of other projects in a variety of formats, some are short stories, novellas and a couple well into novel length. One of the novel-sized is a western, which for those of you who know me personally, IS my favorite type of story. FYI, my western movie and book collections outshine most people's complete movie and book collections.
In another creative direction, I'm working on a few different play ideas. A scattered array of tales from a pair fools duped into assisting the Devil, a torments soul given council by his outward conscious - or so he's lead to believe, and a caravan of traveling Gypsies lead by a theatrical Shakespearean madman. most of the plays are at their beginning stage, still feeling around for their collective voice. However, the first one is nearly complete in its first draft, only a few scenes left to write before it too starts its rewriting phase.
Allot of pies in the oven, so to speak, as you can see I've been quite busy. Most days when I'm not at my day job I spend most of my time in my sanctuary plugging along on the keyboard or scribbling nearly unreadable words onto dead trees.
